An amazing ice cream shop, it takes up a whole city block. With many choices, of ice cream, it's almost guaranteed that someone's favorite ice cream flavor is on the menu.We always get the chocolate and strawberry. Also, you could always get the World Famous Hot Fudge Sundae. Parking is relatively easy because there is a hotel on the same block, so people usually can walk, but it can be hard at the same time. Not only does it serve ice cream, there is a mini coffee bar, and many more selections. An iconic ice cream shop, maybe the most iconic in the US. Highly recommended for dessert hungry people, and men and women with a sweet tooth.

This is very cool place in the middle of San Francisco. I always make sure to have a visit here while I'm in San Fran because they give you a free chocolate when you walk through the door. After that it's all temptation so you must get out of there as quickly as possible. Just kidding. It's a wonderful place to just chill after strolling along throughout the city.

This shop is really close to my place. They have lots of different variety of ice cream flavors. definitely the best ice cream store in the city.

Love the huge ice 🍨 cream we ordered for the family had many different flavors and the information on chocolate making display was interesting to watch. Must visit place if you're in SF have ice cream and head to Lombard street nearby or Pier 49

One of the best tourist attractions in SF. I like the decorations and all features they have there. They give away a piece of chocolate when you enter the store! It would be a memorable visit and you can get some good chocolate souvenirs there! 🍫🍭🍩🍪Come with your family friends and have a good time! :)

Very clean square, and they are following the guidelines for Covid-19, you can find hand sanitizer everywhere in the square.

It’s nice enough, with enough chocolate for the wonka factory to be jealous of, and the atmosphere is really great as well. The layout is nice, and the employees there do a really wonderful job of making you comfortable when you’re just browsing through, which was very thoroughly appreciated.

One of my personal favorite places in San Francisco. No SF visit is complete without enjoying a nice creamy hot fudge sundae ice cream. You can buy chocolates at their marketplace, have wine or beer at their brewery, and eat salads and pasta while gazing at the beautiful bay.

The Ghirardelli center was a small little place we stopped at on our way back from Fisherman's wharf. Looked like a few stores and maybe a bar or two so maybe a fun place to hang out at nights. Though I imagine that the reason people come here is for the dessert. Being the original Ghirardelli shop there's an expectation of everything tasting delicious. Based off of we ordered I would be willing to bet that everything does taste great. The ice cream in our banana split was fantastic and even a simple vanilla scoop with hot fudge tasted like it could've been an expensive treat.

We loved it here I mean it was mostly shut because of covid but got some good deals on chocolate. So we are happy

This place was so good I came here twice on the same trip! (I was only in San Fran for 4 days for work)The first time I got the Muir Wood sundae and shared with a friend. It was delicious. I really liked the black cherry ice cream. The second time we came back, we decided not to share. I got the brownie sundae. It came with two scoops of vanilla but I really liked the black cherry ice cream so I replaced one of the scoops with black cherry. (You can actually choose any flavor) I was also thinking of the banana split but thought three scoops might be too much.I finished my sundae and could've had more, so three scoops probably wouldn't have been too much. After our sundaes we took a walk around Ghirardelli Square. It is a wonderful area for a stroll in the evenings.

Ice cream was delicious!!Super well served and soo fast!!They have only take out, everything is spotless and they have everything set up to follow guidelines as simple as possible... perfect if you just want something delicious and fresh next to the beach!!

Chocolate was great and ice cream is creamy and fantastic! Went here 2 weeks ago for ice cream before the outbreak so I was lucky enough to get a sundae on the way out. Hardly melted and was reasonable in pricing. Once this outbreak is over, I'll order again hopefully sooner.

Chocolate heaven for those who choose to indulge. Here is the place to be. The dessert place is amazing. Floats, sundaes, shakes, etc. The desserts should be shared! There are nice shops in it too.

A great meetup spot to hangout.. Get the best chocolate.. Food.. Drinks.. Ice cream.. Sundae.. Arcade.. And miniature golf

Fun experience and super yummy! We got the Lands End ice cream sundae with a fudge brownie, vanilla ice cream, whip cream and chocolate syrup. The brownie was chewy and fudge like with the classic ghiradelli flavor. There was a salty caramel syrup on it as well which really brings out the flavors of everything else. Very good! Go try it!

We had fun exploring the Square and playing sack toss and returned for sundaes at the end of our time in San Francisco. At all times the staff interactions were fun and friendly. The ice cream sundaes were a hit and they even had dairy free selections.

We loved getting ice cream and our kids really enjoyed playing bean bag toss and they have tons of benches to sit on and people watch. It is a must see when you come to San Francisco. The entire area is kept exceptional clean the shopping and wine shops are a must see then get ice cream for the kids. Our kids loved seeing the process of how chocolate is being made it helped them to read the boards then see the process

Love this place! The food and ice-cream is great and has a wonderful view. The shops around it are nice too! A must see if you are in San Francisco.

Last week we visited the Ghiradelli Square, we went to the Ghiradelli Market place to purchase few choclates since the main shop was closed. The choclates were good but the dessert which we took there were pathetic. We took the "World Famous Hot Fudge Sunday", everything was wrong with that. The choclate sause inside the ice cream was very hard and sticky. The ice cream was over sweet. Me and our friends both experienced the same, its not just me. I had very high expectations before having it, since this was the first time I am visiting it. I have had much much more delicious ice creams back in India and this was a no match.

OH EM GEE!! the chocco fudge ice cream.. its so addicting be careful! We come here probably once a month because its just so daring

Icecream and hot fudge are super good tho pricey- 7.78$ for a scoop with fudge.The staff super unhelpful, I could not figure out whst the menu is and they were not helpful.

Best ice cream sundae you will ever have!!! I live in the Bay Area and have had my share of ice cream treats and this one wins every time. I always get the original but my sister loves the cookie dough one. When you get there you will see a line but for the most part it moves fast and in my opinion well worth the wait. If you are visiting San Fran for the first time this is a must do and you will regret it if you decide to skip it. If there is a huge line or if you are there on a busy day they have lots of little locations other than the main restaurant where you can pic up your ice cream sundae.

I got the mint chip sundae (for $12, mind you). I love chocolate, but I would have liked some mint chocolate chip ice cream with my fudge, since that’s what I ordered. There was literally so much hot fudge I could barely even taste the ice cream. It was just way too much.

We ordered a ton of ice cream and it all came out super quickly and the flavors were delicious! I really liked the espresso chip and the raspberry sorbet was super tasty! Plus look at the portion for this ONE scoop it was pretty ridiculous how much raspberry sorbet cake for the price of $5!!

Ghiradelli is known for their chocolate, but their ice cream is also great! Best ice cream parlor in San Francisco, so please come here.

I absolutely LOVE Ghirardelli Chocolate and icecream, yet you do not get much when you order it to go. Not worth the small portion size. Do not order sea salt caramel sundae unless you totally love salt and tons of it.

I like Ghirardelli...chocolate..it would great to have their Chocolate frozen yogurt it's delish..and the salted sample Carmel squares are actually life savers....I can't always afford the added kcals in the Hot Fudge Sundae..I can't climb all the hills in city in one day to burn off NY BAGGAGE...oops I mean fat....I would give Ghiradelli more than 5 Stars.....I would recommend them to everyone...Better than Maple View Farms......

Sweet tooth satisfied for sure! The smells are free and also a sample as you come in. Huge ice cream treats, I love the milk shakes. There are lots of merchandise and souvenirs to browse through and a nice relaxing zone outside.

One of the best places to visit while in San Francisco. The place gets really busy on weekends and during the holidays but the lines move really fast and the service is great. Their World Famous Hot Fudge Sundae and Crissy Field - Cookie Bits Sundae are my absolute favorites. Their chocolates are also very tasty and locally made. A must visit!

This place is to die for. A great destination for any chocolate lover!! Amazing ice cream and world famous hot fudge sundae. You might have to wait in line because everyone knows how delicious it is, but luckily there are different spots in the square to get it so it is a little bit faster. A definite stop when passing through San Francisco.

Great chocolates! The best, locally made and tastiest. The coffee is exceptional. They have quite a few items for sale for the average tourist. They get busy on a nice day, be patient the line moves fast. Was impressed with the quick and friendly service. Love the factory turned shopping center. The lawn across the street is awesome for a picnic on one of the many benches provided you don't wish to take up residence. The local homeless are not allowed to loiter here so the visitors can enjoy the location.

So I live thia place. The ice cream shop is off the hook, but it's currently closed for covid. You still can buy chocolate in the west shopping center but be aware I was there on a Saturday and it does not open till 12. I got there around 11 with a lot of other people. We were all disappointed

The best chocolate imaginable. So rich and decadent one piece is very satisfying. Oh, very expensive too but worth every penny!

The environment here is so beautiful and the ice cream is decent. We had the banana split. Which was okay and then went back the next day and the treasure island sundae and it was AMAZING! They have a store for you buy gifts aka all the chocolates you want! Also, there are two shops. The first one is on first floor and is not as busy, but the main store is up stairs right next the arched Ghirardelli sign. I rated it 5 stars because I think the experience is so cool and well worth it!

Ghirardelli is good from any of their regular stores, but it's AMAZING here. If you're a chocolate fan, this is a must visit place. Prices for sundaes are $10-13. Shakes are $8-10. Hot chocolate (which is delicious) is $3-6. Family friendly seating inside.Also, there are some cool things to look at inside showing how they make chocolate. It's not a lot, but my kids thought it was cool to watch for a few minutes.

I brought the Cookie Bliss Sundae. It's absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this!!

They have an outdoor ordering counter at Beach St due to the COVID pandemic. Still the same great taste and flavors of the hot chocolate fudge.

It’s a paradise for people who love chocolate.When you are visiting the tourist sites in San Francisco, the Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory is a must see. I don't think that I have ever seen so much chocolate in one place except maybe at Hershey. This is a great place for kids young and old. They even still make chocolate there and it is interesting to watch the process. Besides shopping for every imaginable form of chocolate, take a minute to enjoy a hot fudge sundae. The hot fudge is fabulous. If you are visiting San Francisco Ghirardelli should be on your list! Do not miss to see this place , must visit for family

It's difficult to recommend what time of the day specifically one should go here. It's always crowded. It always looks great. The food and shopping options here are always great. It's just great to be around. Plenty to see and do for your kids. Each time of the day gives different kinds of photograph opportunities. So, if you're looking for crisp, clear and detailed pictures. Go there during the day. If you want to catch all the lights coming on - Evening. If you're a night-time photographer - Then go there at night. Whatever time it is - You'll have alot of fun!

We have been coming here on our San Francisco visits for decades, and it is as good as ever. It's a great place to stop for both ice cream and coffee, and the gift shop area has a great assortment of things to take home. In fact, a cute little plush bear with a soda jerk hat and bow tie hitched a ride back to San Diego with us.
